Great budget soundbar

I had to dispose of my very old 5.1 surround system and was wondering what to replace it with, domestic bliss called for a solution which did not involve tons of speakers. So I looked around at Soundbars, I didn't want to spend too much as soundbars were an unknown to me. I spotted this Sony Soundbar at under £100 and decided to try it. For the money it works very well, clear and clean sound delivery, even has a modicum of bass, speech is much better than the TV's speakers. Do make sure that you set your TV's speaker output to "external" or similar setting. I connected it via hdmi arc and when I switch the TV on it starts the soundbar automatically. I have had lots of Sony equipment over the years and they have all been reliable with good quality sound and vision. I have had this soundbar for 2 years now and if you don't want to spend too much then this soundbar is highly recommenced.

Great Sound, but Constantly Disconnects from TV

I’ve had this soundbar for about 2 years now, and while I really love the sound improvement, it does not like to connect to my tv. I have it plugged in directly via HDMI, but when I turn it on, the sound won’t play like 50% of the time. I have to power cycle the tv + soundbar or toggle between tv sound and sound bar, which is a bit annoying. When it works it works great, it just doesn’t always work

Tengo un parlante SRS B12 que suena maravilloso con mi smart TV. Mi Smart TV tiene las bocinas hacia atrás, que en la sala, teniendo la terraza abierta, hay que subir el volumen hasta 50 y después bajarlo cuando viene la música. Así que decidí comprar esta barra de sonido, porque confiaba en Sony. El cable óptico, que viene con la barra, es muy delicado y muy dificil de conectar, tanto en la barra como en la TV. El sonido, no es de otro mundo, suena igual que con Bluetooth, además, hay que usar el control remoto para regular el volumen. En cuanto al Bluetooth, es genial, porque puedes poner la barra donde desees. El sonido cambia, porque ya no se escucha hacia atrás si no que viene hacia delante. Pero, entiendo que no es tan bueno si tuvieras el buffer y los parlantes posteriores. Sin embargo, cumple con mandar el sonido hacia adelante. Creo que es muy grande la barra y la puedes apagar en el botón de la barra o desde el control remoto de la barra. La barra, tiene dos bocinas en cada esquina, que creo son las que llaman Twitter. El sonido no es lo que esperaba, lo esperaba más profundo, pero no esta mal, supongo que es superior a otra marca más económica. Yo sugiero que vayan a una tienda física en la que puedan comparar.

I bought this after a BOSE one would not connect so the sound went up and down with the TV remote- which was a deal breaker. This bar connects via a HDMI cable and is perfect. No need to use the supplied remote once connected. All good, very pleased.

I bought this soundbar 6 months ago, as both my wife and I wear hearing aids and have to use subtitles on TV. The soundbar make the words much clearer for us, and different settings on remote.

Basic table top sound bar. Simple to connect, but even though we were fitting Sony soundbar to a Sony tv getting the settings right took a bit of fiddling. On good point, once it up and running you can put the remote in a drawer as the tv remotes handles everything automatically.

I bought this to work with a 75" LG TV which had terrible built-in speakers, and the Sony soundbar works great! Install was easy and no issues, and really helps out with the sound via the TV. I also use it for Blue Tooth audio via my phone, and once again, no issues and delivers good audio. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

Purchased two weeks ago. My heart sank when I saw the instructions….there were so many and I had little idea what they meant! BUT once all the correct cables plugged in - an arc hdmi is a must, the TV and sound box did their thing and connected to each other, without me doing anything. All I had to do was tell it to focus on voices, I don’t even need the remote controller as the TV one is now connected, as if by magic. So very happy, deaf ish hubby very happy, hopefully it will last a good 10 yrs, sound quality is great.

Doesn’t always Sync

Have been using it for 4 months. mmmm and still not 100% happy. 50% of the time the sound from the sound bar doesn’t always sync with the tv. Turning the tv and sound bar off and on again usually fixes the problem, but it happens many times when the tv/ soundbar don’t sync. Disappointing TV, Soundbar, HDMI all Sony?
